What is a bad eyelash extension installation and how to recognize it?

Our local beauty services market is full of professionals with varying skills and qualifications. Unfortunately, services are also offered by those who lack deep and professional knowledge of the eyelash extension application process, the tools used, and the desire to truly understand the client's wishes and needs. Not to mention the ability to empathize and communicate with clients in a polite, respectful manner.

The task of an eyelash artist is to have a general understanding of eye functions, facial proportions, the correct use of materials and tools, and the interactions of ingredients. Creativity, a sense of composition, and the ability to visualize how eyelash extensions will look after 3-4 weeks are necessary.

This knowledge is all crucial to provide a high-quality, well-thought-out and lasting result without damaging your natural lashes. Yes, it is normal that eyelash extensions do NOT damage your natural lashes, not to mention various irritations and discomfort in your eyes.

However, (fortunately) I also have clients who have already been harmed by an incompetent and ignorant beauty service provider. We're not just talking about damaging their eyelashes, it's often also about being the victim of poor and rude communication.

It's good if you have reached my hands after installation or after installation and also 1 time of maintenance. Then, if you are lucky, you can still do a new installation after removal. Often, you also have to start a special eyelash serum treatment right away, if you wish, you can wear eyelash extensions at the same time.

In most cases, eyelash extensions should be installed as lightly as possible in a given situation, and the choice will be for shorter material (see the video at the end of the post). In each subsequent treatment, we can gradually create a more intense and so-called "stronger" result if desired.

What are the main signs of poor-quality and unskilled eyelash extension installation?

Glued to the eyelid. This is also betrayed by the square, spread-out tip of the eyelash extension attachment.
Eyelash extensions are glued to several natural lashes with a large amount of glue. A large amount of glue does NOT equal better durability!
The client was not thoroughly consulted about the desired result. The material chosen for the application of eyelash extensions was too curved, dramatic, long or, conversely, too flat (falls over the eyes, so-called sleepy eyes) and thick, stiff material.
Inner corners that are too long make the client's life with eyelash extensions agonizing and cause discomfort in the eye.
