Eyelash extension care – my recommendations to keep your eyelashes beautiful and healthy

Eyelash extension care is an important part of your beauty routine that boosts your confidence and enhances your appearance. Beautiful, full lashes can really make a difference in how you feel, but there are a few common mistakes you can avoid to help prolong the life and beauty of your extensions. Here are my top tips for keeping your extensions beautiful and healthy!

1. Don't ignore the maintenance instructions!

After applying eyelash extensions, I always provide necessary care instructions to help prevent premature eyelash loss.

Recommendation: Avoid getting your lashes wet for the first 24 hours, avoid oil-based products and hot steam. Proper care can extend the life of your lashes by up to 30%!

2. Use oil-free products

Oil-based makeup removers weaken the adhesive and cause extensions to fall out earlier.

Tip: I recommend oil-free cleansers that are specifically designed for eyelash extension care.

3. Be moderate when cleaning

Although cleanliness is important, you shouldn't overdo it. Excessive cleansing also makes the skin around the eyes drier. If you wear a lot of makeup and heavy makeup, you should of course wash your eyelashes every day because makeup residue also accumulates in the areas where the eyelashes grow and can cause bacterial inflammation there.

Solution: Always use a special eyelash washing foam, which you can buy at the best price and quality directly from the master. Always be very gentle when cleaning the eye area to avoid irritation.

4. Avoid rubbing your eyes

Rubbing your eyes or pulling on your eyelashes will damage the extensions and can cause your natural eyelashes to fall out.

Recommendation: If your eyes are itchy, consult your technician to find the cause. It can often be an allergy, but not always. If the eyelash extensions are installed correctly and professionally, there will be no disturbing symptoms.

5. Book regular maintenance

Eyelash extensions need filling every 3 weeks on average to maintain a neat and full appearance.

Reminder: Regular treatments help prevent uneven lashes and keep them looking beautiful. Plus, you can change styles and lengths during treatments!

6. Be aware of possible allergies

If you have any allergies, please let me know. Some clients may be allergic to certain ingredients in eyelash glue.

Recommendation: Talk about your sensitivity before treatment – if necessary, we can do an allergy test to avoid discomfort. This involves applying glue to the corners of the eyes with extensions. The corners of the eyes are the most sensitive areas.

7. Use mascara correctly

If you want to add mascara, choose a water-based product and apply it only to the tips of your lashes to protect the glue. Avoid using mascara if possible. If you go to regular treatments and maintain your extensions, you won't need to use mascara.

Warning: Avoid the so-called Drama Look and clumpy mascara. If you still want to use mascara, consider alternatives like Lash Lift (permanent curling of natural eyelashes) and tinting.

8. Prepare your lashes for sleep

Your sleeping habits affect the durability of your lashes. For example, sleeping on your stomach and rubbing your eyes against the pillow can cause your extensions to fall out.

Recommendation: Invest in a silk or satin pillowcase and a sleep mask that protects your lashes. Sleeping on your side also helps reduce damage to your extensions.

9. Always choose a qualified technician

Not all technicians are created equal and choosing based on price alone can lead to results that don't meet your expectations. I have unfortunately had to restore and repair many lashes during my career as a lash artist. If you have been the victim of a poor application and it has damaged your natural lashes, you need to be patient and start with a course of eyelash serum. I have often been able to install extensions of the appropriate weight and length for the course of treatment. This is not always possible. So choose carefully!

Recommendation: When choosing a new technician, always look at reviews and before-and-after photos. A qualified technician will ensure the health and beauty of your eyelashes. In addition, long-term experience in the field also gives you a lot of confidence.

10. Don't remove extensions yourself

Removing eyelash extensions at home can damage your natural lashes.

Best for lashes: Schedule a professional removal to keep your natural lashes healthy.

Maintaining beautiful eyelashes

Taking care of your eyelash extensions is important so that you can enjoy your beautiful lashes for as long as possible. By avoiding these common mistakes and following my recommendations, you can enjoy longer-lasting, healthy, and beautiful lashes. Your lashes are an investment in your self-care, and with a little extra attention, the results can be amazing.
